Allina Hospitals & Clinics launches news blog

MINNEAPOLIS 09/03/2009--Allina Hospitals & Clinics has launched the Allina News blog, David Kanihan, Allina marketing and communications director, announced today. The blog is on the Internet at allinanews.com.

The Allina News blog replaces a variety of other news and information products that were located at various locations on the main Allina web site.

"The Allina News blog combines all the latest news coverage in the local media about our hospitals and clinics along with our own news releases," said Kanihan. "We provide links to the original source material on the various media web sites whenever available. In many cases, TV news stories can be viewed from within the Allina News blog."

Kanihan noted that individuals can subscribe to the Allina News blog by e-mail (feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=allinanews) so that brief, daily summaries of new posts to the blog are delivered direct to the subscriber's email inbox each morning. People can also subscribe via RSS (feeds.feedburner.com/allinanews).

For the media, the Allina News blog provides contact information for Allina media relations staff, as well as links to the most commonly used features on Allina.com, Allina's main web site.

"We think the Allina News blog is a useful new tool both for the public and for working journalists," said Kanihan. "Plus, it provides simple tools for people to subscribe to our information."
