Buffalo Hospital Turns the City Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Buffalo, MN 10/05/2009--

The city of Buffalo is a glow in pink! Pink Street Party is shining the light on Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Buffalo Hospital Foundation and Sara’s Dance Foundation teamed up to honor all those touched by cancer. Nearly 200 strings of lights were sponsored in honor of a loved one’s memory, in celebration of a survivor or in support of someone who has endured cancer. See more photos.

Hundreds of people turned out in the rain to celebrate the Pink Street Party and help flip the switch on the lights on Thursday, Oct. 1. The pink lights will illuminate the trees and walkway along Buffalo Lake, as well as many supporting businesses, throughout October. The night included great shopping deals, massages, breast cancer education and food.

Funds raised from The Pink Street Party will be used to provide free mammograms for uninsured women in our community, to promote breast cancer education and to impact the quality of life for those diagnosed with cancer.
