DAAN family wellness class series

BUFFALO, Minn. 02/02/2007--As part of the DAAN™ (dā on) program, Buffalo Hospital is hosting a series of classes to teach families about healthy living habits on Tuesday, February 13 and Tuesday, February 20 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Buffalo Hospital's Sister Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy Center at Gold's Gym located at 101 14th Street NE , Buffalo, MN 55313.  

Health experts from Buffalo Hospital will teach two 90-minute sessions discussing health and making good choices in your day-to-day life habits using fun "hands on" activities.

  • The first session focuses on health nutrition choices. A registered dietitian will discuss appropriate food servings for youth to adult, how to read food labels, healthy choices when eating out, understanding the new food pyramid and how to make a family friendly meal when time is limited.
  • During the second session, an exercise physiologist will discuss physical activity the whole family needs to achieve and maintain wellness.

Body mass index (BMI) and heart rate will also be covered along with ideas for fun physical activities for the entire family.

The cost for this series is $10 per family. Registration is required by calling 763-684-7121.
