Mercy has Anoka County’s first baby of '08

COON RAPIDS, MINN. 01/01/2008--The first baby born in Anoka County is Dekotah Elizabeth Zeis. She was born at 6:31 a.m. on January 1 at Mercy Hospital. Her parents, Jennifer Kane and Justin Zeis, live in Isanti, Minn.

As is tradition, the baby received a New Year’s gift from Mercy Hospital Auxiliary President Louise Cottrell. In 2007, 2,696 babies were born at Mercy.

Mercy Hospital, part of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, is a 271-bed non-profit hospital that serves the northwestern Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.
