Mercy Hospital is offering a heart health screening

COON RAPIDS, Minn. 02/05/2009--The public is invited to a heart health screening on Saturday, February 21 from 7 to 11 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, 4050 Coon Rapids Blvd. in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

"Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both women and men in the United States. And obesity in children is on the rise, putting them at greater risk for heart disease," said Brenda Link, Wellness Program manager. "You can help prevent heart disease by knowing your risk factors and taking steps to reduce them."

The screening includes a body mass index (BMI); blood pressure; fasting total cholesterol, HDL, HDL ratio, LDL, triglycerides and glucose; and same-day review of results with a health professional. The cost of the entire program is $30 per person.

Registration is required by calling 612-262-3333 or visiting www.allina.com/classes.

Each appointment is for 15 minutes. Fasting is required and will be reviewed during registration.
