Allina Medical Clinic–Litchfield, Affiliated Community Medical Centers Merge
LITCHFIELD, MINN. 04/15/2009--Affiliated Community Medical Centers and Allina Medical Clinic–Litchfield have finalized plans to merge the two clinics. Through an agreement effective June 26, 2009, the Allina Medical Clinic – Litchfield will become part of ACMC’s 11-clinic healthcare delivery network. The merger will best serve the needs of the community by creating one, integrated local care delivery model that enhances primary and specialty care services for patients.
Terry Tone, ACMC administrator, said the merger will facilitate the sharing of best practices from both medical groups. “We look forward to a merger that builds on the strengths of both groups of healthcare providers, allowing us to grow the services and continue quality in the Litchfield community.”
“We are convinced that the best way to continue to fulfill our responsibility to the community, and to deal with the challenges we face in health care, such as rising costs, capital demands and physician recruitment, is to form one merged medical group to work in a coordinated way,” said Gary Walbrun, vice president, Allina Medical Clinic.
The merger will leverage the clinics strengths and help to foster an innovative clinical environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
The consolidated clinics will provide services under the banner of Affiliated Community Medical Centers and will operate at two clinic locations with the goal to have all providers and staff in one location within 18 to 24 months.
