Low Vision Services at Buffalo Hospital

Buffalo, MN 55313 05/27/2010--

Phillips Eye Institute at Buffalo Hospital now offers low vision services to help those with low vision make the most of their remaining eyesight.

“Some vision impairments cannot be corrected with glasses, surgery or medicine, but there are many ways we can help people maintain their independence and improve their quality of life,” says Warren Stoltman, OD, Phillips Eye Institute at Buffalo Hospital.

After an initial evaluation, the low vision specialist will recommend devices and adaptive techniques to help you with your daily activities. Vision rehabilitation services equip patients with skills and strategies to help keep them safe, independent and active while adjusting to vision loss.

Signs of low vision include trouble recognizing familiar faces, difficulty reading and seeing objects and potential hazards, such as steps or furniture.

Ask your eye care provider to determine whether a low vision evaluation is a good option for you or a loved one. To find out more or to schedule an appointment with a low-vision specialist, call Phillips Eye Institute at Buffalo Hospital at 763-684-6046. Or visit us online at buffalohospital.org.
