Buffalo Hospital is throwing a Mammo Party
BUFFALO, Minn. 02/23/2009--Getting a mammogram has never been so relaxing and so much fun. If you have never had a mammogram, it's been more than a year since your last one, or if you don't have health insurance, this is the party for you. Buffalo Hospital Foundation is throwing a Mammo Party to help detect breast cancer early, Saturday, March 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Buffalo Hospital.
"The American Cancer Society recommends women age 40 and older get a mammogram every year, but lots of women avoid them," says Rose Voigt, Buffalo Hospital Imaging manager. "Since a mammogram is so important for detecting breast cancer early, Buffalo Hospital Foundation decided to create a warm, relaxing and fun atmosphere to encourage women to get a mammogram."
Buffalo Hospital and Buffalo Clinic are offering stress-free mammograms and much more, including seated massages, facial skin analysis and care, computer generated hair styles, heart healthy appetizers, gift bags with a screening and other pampering activities, as well as local vendors, including Lillian's will be on hand.
Allina Medical Clinic and Buffalo Clinic doctors and staff will also offer short discussion about menopause and your health care needs as you age, mini-workshops on nutrition, exercise and building a great wardrobe on a budget.

If you don't have insurance, no problem. Buffalo Hospital Foundation is teaming up with Sage to cover the costs. The Mammo Party is possible thanks to funds raised at Tough Enough to Wear Pink.
