MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. 07/31/2009--One of Minnesota’s largest National Night Out celebrations is in the south Minneapolis’ Phillips Neighborhood near Abbott Northwestern Hospital. This year, hundreds of residents are expected in what has become an annual block party.
What: 1500 hotdogs and picnic food, Samba music, a rap contest, Salsa dancers, lawn bowling, Shriners’ vehicles, kids’ activities and prizes
When: Tuesday, August 4, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: Between Columbus and Portland avenues on East 27th Street
This is the 12th year Abbott Northwestern has helped host the party. "It is important to maintain our connections in the community and support any efforts that allow neighbors to get to know each other," says Daryl Schroeder, Abbott Northwestern's vice president of Operations.
