We're moving!
When it opens on Monday, June 6, 2011, the new clinic will replace the current clinic at 5300 Alpine Drive NW in Ramsey.
"Our new clinic is designed to create a community-centered delivery model that gives local residents access to providers and services in their community," said Phil Hoversten, MD, district medical director of Allina Medical Clinic. "We want to build a clinic right in Ramsey that meets the needs of a growing community."
The new Ramsey clinic will be 22,900 square feet compared to the current clinic at 20,488 square feet. The key is that the new facility provides significantly more space for exam rooms and care providers and will provide for the addition of seven additional providers over the next few years to accommodate the needs of the Ramsey area.
"We are extremely pleased that Allina has chosen to make a major capital investment in the Ramsey clinic," Ramsey Mayor Bob Ramsey said. "Ramsey is a fast-growing community and a first class medical facility of this type is exactly what was anticipated."
Serving patients in Ramsey, Minnesota
The current Allina Medical Clinic - Ramsey opened in 1979 as part of the Coon Rapids Clinic system. Two founding physicians staffed the clinic, each working three days a week.
Today, the clinic has 14 providers who specialize in family medicine, pediatrics, OB-GYN, internal medicine and physical therapy. Allina Medical Clinic - Ramsey offers extended evening hours three days a week.
"As a community clinic, we strive to know our patients and provide a comfortable and intimate setting for health care," Hoversten said. "Being part of the Allina Hospitals & Clinics system allows us to do that and still provide all the specialty and hospital care that might be needed from nearby Mercy Hospital and all the other Allina resources."
In addition to the Ramsey clinic, Allina Medical Clinic also provides primary care to local residents at clinics in Elk River, Champlin, Coon Rapids and Maple Grove.
