Edson Spencer, Jr. elected board chair, Allina Hospitals & Clinics
MINNEAPOLIS 06/15/2007--Edson Spencer, Jr. has been elected chair of the board of Allina Hospitals & Clinics. He succeeds Rollie Crawford, who has served as board chair since 2005. Spencer is the founder and chair of Affinity Capital of Minneapolis, and has been a member of the Allina board since 2004.
"Ed Spencer brings an outstanding record of achievement and service to the role of Allina board chair," said Crawford.
"His passion for health care and outstanding financial acumen will be tremendous assets as we continue to advance the Allina mission of providing exceptional care to the communities we serve."
Prior to founding Affinity Capital, Spencer was principal and co-founder of Peterson-Spencer-Fansler Company, the predecessor of Affinity Capital. He also spent eight years as a senior officer of Dyco Petroleum, Inc., a large independent oil and gas corporation. Spencer has an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from Williams College.
