Buffalo Hospital Foundation teams up with Buffalo PRCA Rodeo to save lives
BUFFALO, Minn. 06/03/2009--
Buffalo Hospital Foundation invites breast cancer survivors to join us at the third annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink event at the Buffalo Championship PRCA Rodeo, Thursday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Tough Enough to Wear Pink is an initiative to increase awareness about breast cancer and raise funds to make screenings available to uninsured women in Wright County.
At 7:30 p.m., breast cancer survivors will gather in the rodeo arena just before intermission for a brief program to celebrate those who have battled breast cancer, honor those who are currently fighting and remember those we miss. Each survivor will receive a Tough Enough to Wear Pink T-shirt and wear a rodeo number with the amount of years they have survived cancer. A riderless horse will honor those who have lost their fight with breast cancer.
To sign up, call the Buffalo Hospital Foundation at 763-684-6800.
Sale proceeds to help provide breast cancer screenings
One dollar from each ticket sold for Thursday's rodeo -- along with proceeds from shirt, hat and raffle ticket sales -- will help provide screenings to women in hope of catching cancer early, when it's most treatable.
Raffle tickets are available for $10. Prizes include a pink Adley Moto Jet50 Scooter, valued at $1,695 and donated in part by Truman Welters, $500 cash, groceries and Cub Foods gift card ($200) and a Girlfriend Getaway Retreat ($189). Raffle tickets are available at the Buffalo Hospital's gift shop or through the Buffalo Hospital Foundation.
Pink attire contest
Prove you are tough enough to wear pink by competing in the Most Unique Pink Attire contest. Contestants simply need to register from 6 to 7:15 p.m. on June 18 at the Tough Enough booth just inside the rodeo gates.
Three winners (1 male, 1 female and 1 child up to age 12) will be named during the rodeo. Each adult winner will receive $50, and the child winner will receive $25. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink!

Sponsors of Tough Enough to Wear Pink include Abbott Northwestern Hospital's Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, Allina Medical Clinic and Buffalo Championship Rodeo.
