Special veteran’s memorial at Buffalo Hospital
BUFFALO, Minn 06/27/2007--Buffalo Hospital and students from the Brilliant Futures program in Buffalo teamed up recently to create a special memorial to honor veteran’s service to our country. The students did a bit of creative landscaping in which a large American flag backs a patriotic flower garden, planted in red, white and blue. The memorial is located on the east side of the hospital campus and can be seen clearly from Anderson Avenue.
Buffalo Hospital patient account specialist, KrisTina Heid had the initial idea. “This is a great way to show our appreciation for soldiers past and present,” said Heid. “Creating this special garden was a really wonderful learning experience for the students and me as well.”
The hospital has another connection to the wall. Engineering staff member, Rich Johnson received word this spring that he would be going to Iraq for a second tour of duty with the Army Reserve. The wall was finished before he deployed in early June and will help keep Rich and the other soldiers serving our country in the thoughts and prayers of all those who see it.
