Owatonna Hospital adds a new physical therapist to staff, focusing on orthopedics, women’s health, vestibular disorders
OWATONNA, Minn. 10/07/2008--Physical Therapist Brooke Deshler has recently joined the Owatonna Hospital’s Center for Rehab & Wellness. Deshler has experience in outpatient, vestibular rehabilitation, women's health, acute care and home rehabilitation.
Deshler’s clinical training focuses on outpatient orthopedics including sports medicine and post-operative orthopedic repairs. Her experience also includes acute care and neurological rehabilitation.
She has additional training in women’s health, which focuses on treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. She has also lectured on incontinence prevention and treatment.
Deshler has also been treating those with vestibular disorders for the past five years. Vestibular rehabilitation is for those who have vertigo attributed to the inner ear, such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) dizziness.
Previously, Deshler practiced at Austin Medical Center in Austin, Minn. Deshler performed her graduate work in physical therapy at Mayo School of Health Related Sciences. She is a 1998 graduate of Winona State University, where she majored in exercise science with an emphasis on cardiac rehabilitation and corporate wellness.
