La Salud Latina! Health Fair celebrating the Latino community
Saturday, April 14, 1-4 pm
Buffalo, MN 04/02/2007--Buffalo Hospital, Wright County Human Services, Wright County Community Action and Monticello Big Lake Community Hospital are co-hosting La Salud Latina, a health care event that includes free blood pressure screenings, low cost immunizations, fasting cholesterol checks and screening for diabetes.
"Now in its third year, the La Salud Health Fair has grown to include many of the health care service organization in Wright County," says Mona Volden, RN, one of the event organizers and community outreach manager at Buffalo Hospital. "We see this event as a doorway for the Hispanic community to access the many health care resources in the community."
The event takes place at the Monticello Big Lake Community Hospital, 1013 Hart Boulevard, and features health care specialists along with Spanish interpreters to answer questions and provide translated materials on common health issues. There will also be fun activities for children, face painting, prizes and more. All are welcome!
